Rewarding & Recognising Your People
This brand had lost the people focus that it had previously had. Its leadership team had spent the previous two years on expanding the business and were now keen to reconnect with their people.
Having decided to bring back the quarterly management briefings, I was keen to introduce some recognition pins to be given to managers who had done something exceptional during the previous quarter. I had some lapel pins made that related well to the sector that the brand operated in. The day of the Quarter Brief came and the CEO and Chairman awarded the top performers with a pin and a bottle of champagne.
"When you showed me those pins, Ed, I wasn't convinced," said the CEO, "but the guys love them".
Needless to say the pins became a key feature going forwards!
