Knowing and controlling your costs

With shop and area P&Ls not being issued until three weeks after the end of the period, controlling operating costs was a real issue in this brand.

I worked with the finance team to produce accurate weekly reporting, from revenue through to gross profit.  This gave the Operations Team clarity of their sales, labour and waste with time to take action to address issues.

Tapping into IT skills within my Operations team, I was able to implement an on-line sales, labour and waste forecasting process as well as a system for recording revenue and spend versus budget

We now had simple systems for forecasting revenue and cost, reporting actual revenue and cost and clarity on where the issues were.
